On the left was the S. H. Knox & Co. 5 & 10 at 67 Main St., Palace Clothing House at 69 Main St., Hay Hardware Company (William J. Hay) 75 Main St., German American Bank at 79 Main St. & the taller building was F. A. Plummer Company dry goods at 85 Main St. The building with the flag would have been the Seymour Heymann dry goods store.

On the right side was Pueppke's saloon (pop. Gottlieb Puppke) at 72 Main St., the building with the sign sticking out over the walk was the Cabinet saloon (prop. William Grady) at 76 Main St.
