Notes Thumbprint view of Laura Louise Parsons Wright, wearing a dark dress, white collar and flower. Laura Wright was born February 27, 1823 in Sandisfield, Massachusettes to Joseph Gibbon Parsons and Roxana Lucretia Case. She met George F. Wright while her family was living in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he owned a store. They married on April 28, 1839. The couple had nine children, five of whom reached adulthood. In 1842 they came to Oshkosh and bought a farm which is now the center of the city. They built a log cabin on the site and later a large Greek Revival house. Wright was the father-in-law of Dr. Willard H. Titus who married their daughter Flora in 1876. They were financially ruined in 1856 when the Winnebago Railroad failed. They retired to a farm near Stony beach where George. She died on September 24, 1877.
