Notes Outdoor image of the Mike Grabner House at 443 5th Avenue (changed to 1203 in 1900 and to 843 in 1957). The house was located west of Idaho and was one of the first houses built on the block. There are no surrounding houses, but some visible in the far distance. Mike Grabner leans against the simple frame house while his wife Veronica sits on the porch with their three daughters. The house was still standing in 2005.

Michael "Mike" Grabner was born in Oshkosh July 24, 1868, the son of Michael Grabner and Anna Kirchbaum Grabner. His younger brother was Christian "Little Chris" Grabner. His father died in 1874 and his mother married a man named Dengler. Mike married Veronica Miller on May 23, 1886. The couple had several daughters: Anna; Betty; and Ella, but only the birth of Barbara was recorded on November 12, 1888. A son Christian Grabner was born May 17, 1896. Mike worked as a finisher at the Buckstaff, Edwards Company.
