Notes A three-quarter standing view of Achsah E. Bessette Mooney, wife of George Mooney. She wears a dark dress with white lace collar and cuffs.
Achsah Bessette was born in January 1857 in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Eber and Anne Williams Bissette. About 1885 she married George Mooney and the couple had three children: Avis, Bernice, and Frank G. Mooney. Her husband died on February 1, 1890 in Green Lake, at the age of thirty-four, leaving her a widow with three young children. She was living in Markesan in 1900 and later moved to Ripon, where she was still living in 1930.
