Notes Ninth plate tintype of lumberer with stamped brass mat and preserver, glass, red velvet lining, lock of hair tied in a bow, and housed in an embossed leatherette case with brass latch.
Half seated view of an unidentified lumberer wearing an unbuttoned plaid shirt, exposing a white undershirt and his chest, dark trousers, and a medium colored felt hat with the brim turned up. On his right shoulder he holds an axe. He has a few days growth of wiskers and sports a thin chin beard. The family that donated the image was in the logging industry and it is possibly an image of Elias Rhoades of Medina, Wisconsin.
