John Jay Davis was born August 13, 1885 in Kansas, the son of Buel T. Davis and Emma Waite. The family moved to Oshkosh in 1896. He attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where he met Katherine Hewitt Hull. They were married in Oshkosh on February 5, 1908. The couple had no children. During World War I he was a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Service of the US Signal Corps. He worked for Paine Lumber Company, where he was an industrial engineer. He died in Oshkosh in May 1973. |
