Benjamin Foss Hooper was born in Neenah, Wisconsin on January 13, 1861, the son of Moses Hooper and Caroline Bailey Hooper. The family moved to Oshkosh in 1863 where Moses established a very successful law practice. Ben attended Columbia Law School in New York c 1885, married Jessie Jack on May 30, 1888 in New Hampton, Iowa. He joined his father's law firm of Hooper & Hooper. They had one daughter Lorna Hooper Warfield, born in Oshkosh on May 28, 1899. He was also involved in a grocery wholesale business. He died at Mercey Hospital three days after suffering a stroke, on April 16, 1943. |
