James and Margaret Murdock came to the Oshkosh area before 1853. They owned a farm located on North Main near New York Avenue. He was a candidate for State Treasurer in 1853 and 4th Ward County Supervisor from 1858 to 1863. He died on April 5, 1865. Margaret lived until c. 1913. They had at least six surviving children; Jefferson; Emma; Eugenia; Martha; Mary and Viola. Active: 1853 - 1864 Date Note: circa dates |
