Melvina M. Hadley Sawyer was born in Worcestor, New York May 21, 1824, the daughter of Thomas Hadley and Olive Flint Hadley. After her father died, her mother remarried a man named Perkins. She married Philetus H. Sawyer in 1841. They had 3 children that survived to adulthood; Edgar P. Sawyer; Emma Maria Sawyer White; and Erna Malvina Sawyer Goodman. In 1847 they removed to Fond du Lac, WI and owned a farm. In 1849 they removed to Algoma, which later became a part of the City of Oshkosh. She died May 21, 1888 in Oshkosh. |
