Gustave A. Timm was born in Jefferson County, WI on September 15, 1866, the son of Henry and Augusta Timm. His parents were both immigrants from Prussia. In 1880 he was working as a store clerk at age 15. By 1886 Gustave was working as a photographer in the studio of W. H. H. Robinson in Oshkosh. From 1895-1897 he operated a studio at 115 Main Street; 1898-1907 at 26 S. Main; 1908-1912 at 610 S. Main; 1913-1924 at 427 8th Street. He was also an active member of the Arion Orchestra. He married Jennie Hoppe in Oshkosh on November 8, 1894. The couple had several children: Rhea I. Timm, born January 7, 1897; and Ralph Timm born circa 1909. |
