Description |
A double fold sewing kit used in World War Two. The kit itself is brown leather with off white stitching. the front face flap of the kit tapers down so that it can be secured in a loop that is present on the other flat that, when folded closed, meets to close the kit. On the front facing flap there is the seal of the United States in gold metalic paint. the seal itself is stamped into the leather. The inside of the kit is tan in color and reveals a small tray. the tray is made from the same material that the inside flaps are made out of. Inside the tray there is: a cloth holding five sewing needles and one saftey pin, one brown plastic thimble, four small spools of tan thread, four small spools of brown thread, four small spools of dark green thread, three small spools of white thread, and a green box with the label, "BUTTONS/ SAFTEY/ PINS" that contains exatly what is said to. There are fourteen buttons of assorted colors, and seven saftey pins. Covering all the the tray's contents was a small, clear, plastic film layer. On the inside top flap there is a small piece of green fabric that must have been used as a pin chushion. |
