Western Allied Military paper currency; 1 mark; rectangular in size; obverse is a black guilloche border surrounding a blue guilloche center; the reverse presents a light brown guilloche design of various patterns; the obverse has various printing including "ALLIIERTE MILITARBEHORDE", which translates to Allied Military Authority; the blue center has various numbers and words throughout the device including, "1"; DEUTSCHLAND" ; "EINE MARK"; "series 1944"; and the serial number "058281535"; the reverse has a large "M" located in the center of the design; of special interest is this note was printed by Forbes the printer; these Forbes notes had a secret, styllized "F" located on the obverse in the lower right corner scroll device to distinguish them from ones made by the Russians; see photo showing circled area. |
