Men's military dress shoe; one pair, oxford style shoe; brown leather; laces missing; rubber heel, metal eyelets, cotton lining; size 5 1/2D; United States Marine Corps. Multiple Manufacturer's marks: "MAY 11, 1944/51/2 D 3726-2/INTERNATIONAL SHOE CO./CONTRACT N.O.M. 44522" - in black; back inside heel "5 1/2" - in black; back inside near heel "LEP. SKAHILL/INSPECTOR U.S.M.C." - in red; on inside sole of foot "Henry G. Nichols/U.S.M.C. Inspector" - in red; on inside sole of foot and also on outside sole of each shoe "5 1/2 D" - in black; on inside sole of foot "5 1/2 D" - embossed on outside sole of foot near heel Outide Sole of heel stamped "LIGHTTREAD" on left and "PILGRIM". Original Deed of Gift: "One pair of military dress shoes, brown, without laces; never/little worn. Donor recently purchased at Goodwill." |
