Description |
World War II Victory Ribbon, adjunct to the World War II Victory Medal, consisting of a multicolored fabric covering over a brass attachment device with a "safety pin" type closure on the back; the color scheme is end panels consisting of stipes of dark blue and light blue on either side of a yellow strip with a red line down the middle; this design element is repeated on the left and right side of the ribbon; the middle section is a thin white stripe on either side of a red section to represent the ancient Roman God of War, Mars; this ribbon was authorized on July 6, 1945 and presented to all members of the Armed Forces who served at least one day between the dates of 7 Dec 1941 and 31 Dec 1946. |
